Following a startling but oblique Website announcement on Tuesday, Marvel Comics revealed today an image of what is being called the "all-new" Captain America designed by comics superstar Alex Ross.

The identity of the Ross-designed superhero is unclear, although CBR News can confirm he is not Steve Rogers, the former Captain America who was famously assassinated earlier this year in "Captain America" #25.

The new Captain America will make his debut in January's "Captain America" #34, which will ship with two covers by Alex Ross and series artist Steve Epting. Marvel is expected to release additional artwork later this afternoon, and CBR News will continue coverage tomorrow morning with an interview with Alex Ross.
